Operation Round Up
-- Help Your Neighbors
(May 23, 2005)
John (not his real
name) didn’t know what he was going to do. Due to an unexpected illness
and subsequent surgery, the father of three was unable to return to work
and bills were mounting. He wondered how he was going to pay his energy
bill. Fortunately for John and many just like him, a program has been
initiated where Lower Valley Energy members donate just pennies a month
to help those in need.
Operation Round Up
allows LVE members to round up their bill to the nearest dollar. The
difference is deposited in a fund to help those less fortunate due to
illness and other unexpected circumstances. The funds are then dispersed
to help those in need pay their energy bill to give them a little
breathing room until they can get on their feet.
Operation Round Up
assists dozens of LVE members annually. It is easy to participate in
this program – just contact your local LVE office or go online and
complete the simple form. For an average of 50˘ a month you can make a
difference in the lives of your neighbors who can use a hand.
