Teton Village/Airport Outage Update – 10:16am
Jackson, WY (2-9-17 10:16 am) Teton Village/Airport Outage Update
Thank you again to the Jackson Hole Mountain Resort and their crews for helping us clear snow in an effort to deal with the downed steel transmission poles. We were able to dig down 9 feet to begin setting foundations for the new poles.
We have enough poles to complete the restoration job. The weather is adding complexity to the restoration issue along with the limited work space at the Teton Village site and other materials to complete the work. The 25 linemen from the 5 neighboring utilities brought equipment, materials and expertise and we have made equipment runs to both Salt Lake City and Boise overnight.
The crews were able to restore power to most areas around the airport yesterday and last night. Solitude still remains off as of this writing and we hope to help supplement the airport’s generator use today.
We were not successful in energizing the Teton Village Fire Department and facilities yesterday due to other outages in the valley, but hope to accomplish that today also.
We wish to thank again all the local and regional entities who have without hesitation sent tremendous resources to help us, most especially the 5 neighboring utilities: High Plains Power, Idaho Falls Power, Fall River Rural Electric, Bonneville Power, and Wasatch Energy, along with the crews from the Jackson Hole Mountain Resort. We truly appreciate the patience, support and understanding of this community we are proud to serve.
