Your Cooperative Needs Your Help! This could be worth $1,000 in groceries!

May 15, 2024 (Afton, WY) The Board of Directors request the member/owners of Lower Valley Energy vote to ratify and approve a language change concerning Bylaw Article III Meeting of Members, Section 4 Quorum, and Article IV Board of Directors, Section 5 Elections. The purpose of the language modification is twofold:

1. To define a quorum, regarding a member voting for a director in an election, as ten percent of total membership of that district. Presently, a quorum voting for a director in an election is ten percent of total membership of the entire cooperative.
2. To allow the members in each district to elect their own board representative. Presently, all members vote for every board seat election.

The proposed changes will be effective in 2025 if ratified and approved. Together, the changes will help strengthen the individual voice of each district. Please watch for your Lower Valley Energy ballot in the mail in June.
