2024 Lower Valley Energy Annual Meeting Recap

(June 28, 2024) Afton, WYOMING – Lower Valley Energy held its annual meeting last evening at the Afton office. Board of Director District seats 3 and 4 were up for election this year but the incumbents ran unopposed.  A bylaw change was put to the vote of the entire membership.

Besides the Board of Directors, management, and some employees, there were some distinguished guests in attendance. Former LVE CEO Dick Peck attended the earlier Board meeting. At the Annual meeting former LVE Board Chairman Dr. Little was in attendance, along with WREA Executive Director Shawn Taylor, former Teton County Commissioner and current board member of the Jackson Hole Climate Action collective, Sandy Shuptrine, and retired LVE engineer Ross Turner.

Below are the results of the election this year:

The bylaw change pertains specifically to Board of Director elections: only members from a specific district will be able to participate in the election of their representative. The bylaw change will strengthen the voice of each of the 7 districts that make up the Lower Valley Energy territory. The bylaw change does not affect total-membership voting on matters of business, such as future bylaw changes.

All voters are entered into a drawing and the winners are as follows:

Roger Coles – $1,000 in groceries

Michael May – $1,000 in groceries

Travis Owen – $500 energy credit

Nancy Peters – $500 energy credit

Donald Snyder – $300 energy credit

Justin Hymas – $300 energy credit
