Help for Federal Neighbors

Federal workers in the Lower Valley Energy service territory who are struggling with their electric bills during the government shutdown can apply for assistance through the utility’s Operation Round-Up program, which provides energy bill help to local families and individuals in need. Additionally, One22 Resource Center has launched a Relief for Federal Workers program offering $250 gift cards to full-time, year-round federal employees who work or reside in Teton County and have been furloughed or are facing paused paychecks. The application opened on October 10 and will remain open for 10 days after the federal government reopens, with each eligible individual in a household able to apply independently.

To apply for Lower Valley Energy’s Operation Round-Up assistance (https://www.lvenergy.com/my-account/operation-round-up/ ), workers need to download and fill out an application and submit it to the Jackson or Afton offices or contact Lower Valley Energy at 307-885-3175. The One22 program (https://one22jh.org/get-help/federal-worker-support/) requires proof of residency and employment with a federal agency such as the National Park Service, U.S. Forest Service, or Transportation Security Administration.
