Design Tech III

Lower Valley Energy is seeking a Design Tech III (Senior) to promote consistency in engineering standards and construction practices through planning, design, and coordination of electric distribution and natural gas infrastructure projects while providing technical leadership and mentoring design technicians.

The ideal candidate is someone who has:

Thorough knowledge of electric utility distribution system design for 15 KV and 25 KV construction, construction practices, and materials.
Working knowledge of natural gas utility design and construction practices preferred but not required.
Knowledge of applicable safety regulations, Lower Valley Energy construction standards, and industry best practices.
Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, maps, easements, and legal descriptions.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to communicate effectively with employees, contractors, developers, governmental agencies, and Cooperative members.
Ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to learn new software applications.
Experience with AutoCAD or similar computer-aided drafting software.
Experience using GIS and utility mapping systems.
Experience with utility staking and design software preferred.
Working knowledge of the National Electrical Safety Code (NESC).
