Due to an increase in commodity costs for natural gas, the Lower Valley Energy Board of Directors has made the necessary decision to increase rates for the fuel type. The commodity cost is a component that makes up a large part of the natural gas rate and is something that is monitored daily. As of October 30, 2021, natural gas rates will increase approximately $0.07 for residential/small commercial accounts (and $0.08 for large commercial). Our new rates still remain below the market price for natural gas. As your energy provider, we want you to know that we are doing everything we can to keep your rates as low as possible.
