Lower Valley Energy Strengthens Community with $548,000 USDA Loan to Star Valley Health

(June 2, 2023) Afton, WY – In a partnership with the US Department of Agriculture, Lower Valley Energy (LVE) has released its latest interest-free loan for local economic development. LVE’s revolving loan fund has a successful 21-year record with no defaults and has been utilized by a handful of local businesses.  Star Valley Health (SVH) will use the monies as part of their Alpine medical facility project.

SVH, headquartered in Afton, WY, is the premier medical group in Lincoln County. According to SVH CEO Dan Ordyna, the Alpine facility is part of the larger plan of bringing “new providers, cancer care, EMS services, and robotic technology” to the valley. The SVH system saw almost 50,000 outpatient visits in 2022 and the new Alpine facility will help bring more convenience to some of those visits in servicing the upper end of the Star Valley community.

Lower Valley Energy is proud to serve the local communities. One of the seven core principles governing electric cooperatives is a concern for community.
